Man! The T-N-B 4-H Horse Club has been busy! Our kids have been hard at work. We did an annual Thanksgiving and Christmas food drive, serving 10 different local families. This is one of many community service projects our cowgirls and cowboys participate in each year. We were able to collect nearly 1000 food items at each collection from a local grocery market making bountiful “Blessing Boxes.” This is the third year T-N-B has helped in providing Christmas and Thanksgiving meals for local families. We are so happy to be able to bless these truly wonderful families.

We had an amazing January 5th fundraiser show. Our club would like to thank all the volunteers and barrel racers that came out in the frigid temperatures. We cannot be more grateful for all their support and participation. There were 107 horses than ran in barrels and 28 in poles. It was an amazing night and we’re so glad everyone came. Our 4-H club will also be hosting a Share-a-Ride night February 5th. Share-a-Ride night is a wonderful night and opportunity for anyone interested in horses. If you have kids that are interested you can bring them to learn more about all aspects of horse care and riding. In the coming weeks we will be hosting our Sweetheart Rodeo where we will be working with local agencies to provide equine experiences for individuals with special needs. We also have multiple show dates remaining for the year.

Youth (19 and under) Speed Event Series dates: February 10, March 3, and April 28, 2018. There will be an Open Fundraiser Barrel Race: March 24, 2018

The Lamar County 4-H Turners-N-Burners are making the best better. We hope to see you at some of our upcoming events.
