Hattiesburg to receive major Daylily honor at Jan. 21 meeting

The January meeting of the Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society (HADS) will feature a special daylily designation, made by the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) the national daylily organization. The honor will be made to Hattiesburg and presented to Hattiesburg’s Mayor Toby Barker by AHS President Nikki Schmith.

Joining Schmith in honoring Hattiesburg will be Terese Goodson, Regional President, AHS Region 14, and Debbie Smith, Regional Vice President of Region 14, AHS. Region 14 includes Mississippi and Alabama.

The meeting will be held, Sunday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the Extension Service Conference Room at the Forrest County Multi- Purpose Center on Hwy. 49 South. In addition to the award made to Hattiesburg, the meeting will feature a plant auction and door prizes. Refreshments are served prior to the beginning of the meeting. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
