Unleash your inner Van Gogh – and decorate your home with a Christmas-themed painting in the process – during the second annual Holiday Paint Party at

the African American History Museum.

From 10:00 a.m.-noon Dec. 2, guests will have the chance to break out their paintbrushes under the tutelage of local artist Josh Ferguson, who will teach the class how to paint their own holiday masterpieces to bring home.

The cost for the event is $15 per person, which includes paint materials and refreshments. Space is limited, so guests are required to pre-register by calling 601-450-1942.

“Last year’s event was very successful,” said LaToya Norman, General Manager of Museums for the Hattiesburg Convention Commission. “This gives us an opportunity to connect with the community through the arts, in a nice, intimate setting.”

The African American History Museum also will serve as a drop-off station for Toys for Tots, for which guests can bring a gift to help provide toys for underprivileged children.
