A two vehicle accident involving a rollover injured two children and four adults Friday afternoon. At 4:13 p.m., Pleasant Ridge, Calhoun, Soso and Hebron Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of the accident on Highway 28 West in Soso. Upon arrival, firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders found two heavily damaged vehicles, one lying on its side, blocking both lanes of the highway. Initially, it was reported that there may have been entrapment but it was later confirmed that all occupants were able to exit the vehicles without the need for extrication tools.

Four adults, one of whom was pregnant, and two children were transported in three EMServ ambulances to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel for treatment of what was believed to be minor injuries.

A portion of the highway was completely shutdown for emergency personnel to work safely and due to the vehicles blocking the roadway. The cause of the accident is unknown.

Emergency personnel on scene included Pleasant Ridge, Calhoun, Soso and Hebron Volunteer Fire Departments, EMServ Ambulance Service, Jones County Sheriff's Department, Jones County Fire Public Information Officer, Soso Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol.
